2nd place scientist in the award featured in The Microbiologist for electromicrobial CO2 fixation
William Newell, a scientist from Imperial College of London (UK) who came 2nd place in the science category of The Future is Fungi Award has been featured in The Microbiologist for his work on electromicrobial CO2 fixation.
With the use of electricity converting CO2 to a liquid acid for the yeast Y. Lipolytica can consume, and the increasing fungal biomass can be reused as valuable materials and various use cases.
The award made The Microbiologist aware about this impressive work of William, and you can read more in the article “Single-celled fungi could assimilate CO2 and change the world).
