Fungi in Davos: Nature-Based Innovation

Last week in Davos, as the World Economic Forum unfolded, fungi took center stage in the conversation about solving some of our most pressing environmental challenges. Susanne Gløersen, founder of The Future is Fungi Award, brought the initiative to Davos to spotlight the power of fungi as a nature-based solution.

At the Innovate 4 Nature (I4N) Dinner, we had the privilege of moderating a discussion on fungi innovation, alongside key figures in sustainability such as Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever. I4N is another award program dedicated to highlighting nature-based solutions, and together, we share a common mission: accelerating environmental impact through innovation. A big thank you to Barbara Dubach, Dr. Philipp Staudacher, Katharina Reblitz, and the entire I4N team for hosting an inspiring evening.

Additionally, The Future is Fungi Award hosted a morning session at Standard Chartered in Davos, where we shared insights on the award and some of the pioneering innovations leading the way. We deeply appreciate our collaboration partner, Christian Schmitz from PDIE Group, and the team at Standard Chartered for making this possible.

This is just the beginning! We look forward to continuing to put fungi on the map and collaborating with incredible people to drive nature-based innovation forward. Stay tuned!
